Warranty periods do not restart after a repair, replacement, vehicle sale, or change of ownership. Any approved replacement remains covered only for the balance of the original Warranty Period.
Registration
Optional, but strongly recommended.
Registration is not required for warranty coverage. It is, however, the easiest way to create a lasting record of the product, vehicle, installation, and warranty start date.
Aurios does not retain every receipt or transaction record indefinitely. If an unregistered purchase can no longer be independently verified, a future claim may be denied for insufficient proof of eligibility.
Professional Installations
Active Aurios distributors can register eligible installations through the Distributor Portal. Registration should include the VIN, vehicle information, installation date, product, coverage areas, installer information, and film roll or lot number when available.
Open Distributor PortalPre-Cut Kit Installations
After completing an eligible Aurios pre-cut kit, email clear completion photos, the vehicle VIN, year, make and model, and your Aurios order number or other proof of purchase. Follow the registration directions included with the kit.
info@auriosfilms.comIf You Do Not Register
You may still file a claim, but you must keep verifiable proof of purchase and enough information to establish the product, vehicle, and warranty start date. Outdated or unverifiable documentation may be insufficient to establish coverage.
Coverage Follows the Vehicle
Eligible remaining coverage stays with the vehicle and VIN after a sale. A transfer does not restart or extend the original Warranty Period.
Product Defects
Coverage is for qualifying defects in Aurios materials or manufacture—not damage caused by installation, impact, contamination, misuse, or normal wear.
Labor Is Case-Specific
An approved claim includes replacement material. Aurios decides case by case whether to pay or contribute toward approved labor.
Approval Comes First
Do not remove or replace claimed film before Aurios finishes its evaluation and authorizes the proposed resolution in writing.
Warranty FAQs
Common Questions
Open any section below for the details most customers need before registration or a claim.
What does the Aurios warranty cover?
Subject to these terms, Aurios warrants eligible products against qualifying defects in materials or manufacture during the applicable Warranty Period. Depending on the product and the facts of the claim, covered conditions may include abnormal yellowing attributable to a manufacturing defect, cracking, blistering, delamination, or adhesive failure attributable to the product itself.
Coverage applies only when Aurios determines that the reported failure resulted from the product rather than an excluded cause.
When does the warranty period begin?
Professional Installation
The Warranty Period generally begins on the documented installation date.
Aurios Pre-Cut Kit
The Warranty Period begins on the date the eligible kit was delivered, not the later date on which installation is completed or registered.
Is registration required?
No. Registration is optional, but strongly recommended. Registration creates a lasting record tied to the vehicle VIN and significantly simplifies future verification.
For an unregistered product, the claimant is responsible for providing verifiable proof of purchase and enough information to establish authenticity, the vehicle, the product, and the applicable warranty start date. Aurios does not guarantee indefinite retention of receipts, payment records, distributor records, or order data. A claim may be denied when the available information does not reasonably establish eligibility.
Does the warranty transfer if the vehicle is sold?
Yes. Eligible coverage follows the vehicle and VIN rather than only the original owner. The new owner receives the balance of the original Warranty Period while the covered product remains installed on the vehicle and all other warranty terms continue to be met.
A sale or transfer does not restart, renew, or extend the warranty.
Does an approved claim include labor?
An approved claim includes replacement material for the affected covered area. Labor is not automatically included.
Aurios reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to determine case by case whether it will provide replacement material only, contribute toward approved labor, or pay approved labor. Relevant factors may include:
- The condition and age of the film;
- The nature and extent of the covered defect;
- The vehicle’s history of being garaged or stored outdoors;
- Maintenance records and evidence of proper film upkeep;
- Environmental exposure and vehicle use;
- The condition of surrounding film;
- Installation history and available claim documentation; and
- Other facts reasonably relevant to the requested labor remedy.
No removal, installation, repair, reimbursement, or other labor expense is authorized unless Aurios approves it in writing before the work begins.
Are installation problems covered?
The Aurios Limited Warranty is primarily a product warranty. Workmanship performed by an independent installer may be covered separately under that installer’s own policy.
Conditions caused by installation are not manufacturing defects. Examples include contamination beneath the film, alignment errors, overstretching, stretch marks, improper trimming, lifting caused by inadequate preparation, poorly finished edges, installation marks, or installation over an unsuitable surface.
A customer-installed pre-cut kit remains eligible for product coverage, but mistakes or damage caused during the DIY installation are not covered.
Are rock chips, impacts, scratches, or stains covered?
No, unless Aurios determines that the condition itself resulted from a qualifying manufacturing defect. Paint protection film and windshield film are sacrificial protective layers, but no film can prevent all physical damage.
Rock strikes, road debris, cuts, punctures, dents, abrasions, scratches, collision damage, vandalism, water spots, mineral deposits, bird droppings, bug residue, tree sap, fuel, oil, environmental fallout, and other external contamination are not manufacturing defects.
Is damage to paint or glass underneath the film covered?
No. Aurios does not warrant the condition, preparation, curing, adhesion, or durability of the underlying surface. Paint, clear coat, body filler, decals, coatings, glass, defroster elements, antennas, seals, electronics, or other vehicle components are not covered by the film warranty.
Repaired, repainted, refinished, damaged, improperly prepared, or inadequately cured surfaces may release during installation or removal. That underlying-surface failure is not a manufacturing defect in the Aurios product.
Can an Aurios PPF product be ceramic coated?
Yes, provided the selected coating is compatible with paint protection film and is applied according to the coating manufacturer’s instructions and Aurios care guidance. Damage caused by an incompatible chemical, solvent, polish, coating, or treatment is not covered.

Email the information below to info@auriosfilms.com. Aurios may request additional photographs, records, an inspection, or a sample of the affected material.
- Your name and contact information
- Vehicle VIN, year, make, and model
- Aurios product and affected coverage area
- Installation date or kit delivery date
- Installer or distributor, if applicable
- Registration record or proof of purchase
- Close-up and wide photographs

Coverage by Film
These product summaries are part of the Limited Warranty and must be read together with the full eligibility requirements, exclusions, remedies, and limitations below.
NanoGuard — 12-Year Limited Warranty
NanoGuard carries a 12-Year Limited Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects, including covered instances of abnormal yellowing, cracking, blistering, delamination, or adhesive failure attributable to the product.
Physical impact, scratches, staining, contamination, installation issues, underlying paint failure, normal wear, and improper care are excluded.
NanoStealth — 10-Year Limited Warranty
NanoStealth carries a 10-Year Limited Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects, including covered instances of abnormal yellowing, cracking, blistering, delamination, or adhesive failure attributable to the product.
Normal appearance changes, staining, uneven gloss or sheen caused by abrasion, cleaning, contamination, wear, polishing, impact, or improper maintenance are excluded.
NanoColor — 10-Year Limited Warranty
NanoColor carries a 10-Year Limited Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects.
Because NanoColor is an appearance-oriented colored film, Aurios cannot guarantee that newly installed replacement material will exactly match film that has already been exposed to sunlight, weather, washing, and normal use. Reasonable production-lot variation, normal aging, environmental appearance change, or a mismatch between old and new material is not a manufacturing defect.
NanoBasic — 6-Year Limited Warranty
NanoBasic carries a 6-Year Limited Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects, subject to all registration, eligibility, care, exclusion, claim, and remedy terms on this page.
NanoClear — 2-Year Limited Warranty
NanoClear carries a 2-Year Limited Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects. NanoClear is an exterior sacrificial windshield protection film and is directly exposed to windshield wipers, road debris, washing, chemicals, weather, and environmental conditions.
Unless Aurios determines that the condition resulted from a manufacturing defect, coverage excludes rock impacts, pits, punctures, cuts, road-debris damage, wiper abrasion, scratches from damaged or contaminated wiper blades, ice-scraper damage, chemical damage, improper installation, edge damage, collision damage, damage to the underlying windshield, and normal optical or surface wear associated with exterior use.
NanoHue — Limited Lifetime Warranty
NanoHue carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects while the film remains installed on the covered vehicle, subject to all terms and exclusions on this page.
For this warranty, “Lifetime” refers to the period the covered film remains installed on that vehicle. It does not restart after a transfer of ownership or replacement. The film warranty does not cover the vehicle’s glass, seals, defroster elements, antennas, electronics, trim, window mechanisms, or other components.
Scratching, unsuitable cleaning products, installation damage, mechanical abrasion, aftermarket accessories, glass failure, and other external causes are excluded.
NanoHue Safety — 8-Year Limited Warranty
NanoHue Safety carries an 8-Year Limited Warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects, subject to all terms and exclusions on this page.
The presence of NanoHue Safety does not create a warranty against glass breakage, forced entry, impact, collision, vandalism, or other outside forces.
Aurios Films Limited Product Warranty
This section contains the complete general terms that apply across the eligible Aurios product line. Product-specific terms above supplement these general terms. Where a product-specific provision is more specific, that provision controls for the applicable product.
1. Who and what are covered
This Limited Warranty extends to the current owner of a vehicle on which an eligible, genuine Aurios Films product remains installed during the applicable Warranty Period. The product must have been purchased from Aurios Films or an authorized Aurios distributor and must be identifiable and verifiable to Aurios’s reasonable satisfaction.
Coverage is limited to the Aurios product itself and does not automatically include installation workmanship, removal, reinstallation, underlying surfaces, vehicle components, loss of use, or other costs unless Aurios expressly approves them in writing.
2. Warranty start date and duration
For a professionally installed product, the Warranty Period generally begins on the documented installation date. For an eligible Aurios pre-cut kit, the Warranty Period begins on the kit delivery date.
The applicable duration is shown in the Coverage at a Glance section. A repair, replacement, reinstallation, vehicle sale, or ownership transfer does not restart or extend the original Warranty Period. Any approved replacement remains covered only for the unused balance of the original Warranty Period.
3. Registration and proof of eligibility
Registration is not required. It is the recommended method of preserving the vehicle, product, installation, and warranty-start information needed for a future claim.
If a product is not registered, the claimant bears responsibility for providing verifiable proof of purchase and enough documentation to establish authenticity, product identity, the covered vehicle, and the applicable Warranty Period. Aurios does not guarantee that invoices, payment records, order data, or distributor records will remain available indefinitely. If Aurios cannot reasonably verify an unregistered purchase or determine that a claim falls within the Warranty Period, coverage may be denied.
4. Covered manufacturing defects
Aurios warrants that eligible products will be free from qualifying defects in materials and manufacture during the applicable Warranty Period. Depending on the product, a covered defect may include abnormal yellowing attributable to manufacture, cracking, blistering, delamination, or adhesive failure attributable to the product itself.
A reported condition is covered only when Aurios determines, after reasonable review, that it resulted from a manufacturing defect rather than an excluded cause.
5. Exclusions — what is not covered
This Limited Warranty does not cover damage, deterioration, appearance change, failure, or expense caused in whole or in part by anything other than a qualifying manufacturing defect, including:
- Improper surface preparation, installation, trimming, stretching, positioning, finishing, handling, removal, or reinstallation;
- Improper storage, transportation, or handling before installation;
- Rock strikes, road debris, cuts, punctures, scratches, abrasions, chips, dents, impact, collision, vandalism, hail, fire, flood, or other outside forces;
- Water spots, mineral deposits, acid rain, bird droppings, insect residue, tree sap, fuel, oils, dyes, chemicals, pollution, rail dust, industrial fallout, paint overspray, or other contamination;
- Abrasive washing, harsh cleaners, aggressive pressure washing, unsuitable polishes, solvents, coatings, chemicals, automatic car-wash abrasion, or other improper maintenance;
- Excessive heat, open flame, thermal abuse, chemical abuse, or use outside the product’s intended automotive application;
- Failure, lifting, separation, cracking, delamination, discoloration, or damage of paint, clear coat, body filler, decals, coatings, glass, seals, electronics, defroster elements, antennas, trim, or any other underlying surface or vehicle component;
- Installation on repaired, repainted, refinished, damaged, contaminated, improperly prepared, or inadequately cured surfaces;
- Product installed despite a visible defect or condition that reasonably should have been identified before installation;
- Unauthorized alteration, modification, repair, treatment, or use for an unintended application;
- Normal wear, aging, UV exposure, weathering, mileage, washing, environmental exposure, or gradual appearance change reasonably expected from use;
- Reasonable production-lot variation or color, sheen, gloss, texture, or finish mismatch between previously installed and newly installed material; and
- Failure to provide the product, photographs, records, sample, or inspection access reasonably needed to determine the cause of the reported condition.
6. Claim procedure
To request warranty performance, contact Aurios at info@auriosfilms.com and provide the information reasonably available to establish eligibility and show the reported condition.
Aurios may request additional photographs, videos, receipts, registration data, maintenance records, vehicle-storage information, an installer inspection, physical access to the vehicle, or a sample of the affected material. The claimant must give Aurios a reasonable opportunity to evaluate the product before it is removed or discarded.
Aurios will review the evidence and determine whether the condition is a covered manufacturing defect. No warranty work, removal, reinstallation, or expense is authorized for reimbursement unless Aurios gives written pre-approval.
7. Remedy and labor
If Aurios approves a claim, Aurios will provide replacement material for the specific covered area determined to have failed. If the same product is unavailable, Aurios may provide a reasonably comparable current Aurios product.
Aurios may, but is not required to, contribute toward or pay approved removal and reinstallation labor. Labor decisions are made case by case using the condition and age of the film, garaging or storage history, maintenance and upkeep records, environmental exposure, vehicle use, installation history, surrounding-film condition, claim documentation, and other reasonably relevant facts.
Unless Aurios approves otherwise in writing, the remedy is limited to the affected covered material. Replacement does not renew or extend the Warranty Period.
8. Transferability
Eligible coverage stays with the covered vehicle and VIN. If the vehicle is sold, the new owner receives the remaining balance of the original Warranty Period while the product remains installed and all other terms are met.
A transfer of the vehicle does not create a new warranty, restart the Warranty Period, or expand the original coverage.
9. Independent installers and separate promises
Aurios distributors and independent installers may offer separate workmanship warranties or services. Those separate promises are made by the installer or distributor and are not obligations of Aurios unless Aurios expressly accepts them in writing.
No installer, distributor, reseller, employee, or other person may alter or expand this Limited Warranty on Aurios’s behalf except through a written authorization issued by Aurios.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aurios will not be liable under this Limited Warranty for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of use, loss of time, lost profits, lost revenue, inconvenience, or damage to reputation arising from a product condition or warranty claim.
Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
11. Implied warranties and legal rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the applicable express Warranty Period stated on this page.
Some States do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
